Things to Think About
“Champions aren’t made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them – a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill.” Muhammad Ali
I have always enjoyed the down-to-earth common sense of Muhammad Ali. This quote is telling us something that has been proven over and over again regarding human behavior—champions (leaders) are made, not born, and they are made by themselves more than any outside force or circumstance. Ali mentions skill, which can be learned with discipline and desire. But, it is the will—the will to win, to be the best one can be—that creates a decisive outcome. Thankfully, not all of us have to step into a boxing ring to apply this, but its wisdom is just as powerful for us as individuals in our everyday lives as it was for Muhammad Ali.
Good luck on your journey!
