Things to Think About

"We may build on emotions but we also need a reason to cast light on our efforts."  Tomas Garrigue Masaryk

The more I read about the first Czechoslovak president, Tomas Garrigue Masaryk, the more I appreciate his common sense and wisdom as a leader.  Here, for example, he recognizes human nature—emotions, but he hastens to add the element of critical thinking in decision making.

It’s this kind of self-awareness that allows one to acknowledge the fact that, yes, we all have emotional responses, but when we do, we should pause for a minute to remember Masaryk’s words, which will greatly increase the quality, credibility, and effectiveness of our decisions.

Good luck on your journey!
