Things to Think About

“In the ashes of suffering a Phoenix can be born.” Thich Nhat Hanh

Thich Nhat Hanh is a Vietnamese Buddhist monk and peace activist, who has written more than 100 books.  He is someone who has experienced tremendous hardship and has used it to drive himself forward to something of a greater good.

Not all of us have the patience and presence of mind of a Buddhist monk, especially in those dark moments of suffering.  But, calling to mind this simple quote can remind us that there is inspiration and hope just beyond the dark times and all that is needed at times is merely putting one foot in front of the other—keep moving forward to stir the ashes and awaken the Phoenix in our lives.

Good luck on your journey!
