Things to Think About 131
What is Life All About?
In my work, especially with young people, there are a lot of questions about life perspective. “How can I know where I’m going?” “What is really important in life?” “How will I know when I’ve found it?” “Why am I here?”
The discussion frequently gravitates to careers, professional development, and seizing opportunity, but being wary of risk. These are all things which one does for that quid-pro-quo in life that gets one closer to the realization of what life means in a day-to-day context. The quid is the effort and the quo is the advancement one makes.
Too often we miss an important, other perspective, in a balanced quest for meaning, which is summed up quite nicely in this wonderful quote from Sir Winston Churchill.
“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”
Great food for thought, no?
Good luck on your journey!
