Things to Think About 099
“See everything, overlook a great deal, improve a little.” Pope John Paul XXIII
When I read this quote, the first thing I think of is the classic alpha-control freak screaming, “But I can do so much more than that! This is meant for the under-achievers, not me. I have things to do!” Let’s take another look at this. Here’s what I get out of this wonderful quote: See everything—in other words, be aware, don’t let prejudice or bias, or laziness impair what you see; Overlook a great deal—take a close look at what really matters, don’t try to fight every battle, or win every argument, or change everyone who doesn’t look like or think like you do, and; Improve a little—take a look at what you can, realistically, change or improve and build on that, incrementally. This is a formula for lowering stress and increasing the likelihood of actually getting things done, as opposed to having many things you’re trying to get done and none of them done well.
Good luck on your journey.
Till next time…
