Things to Think About
Rudeness is the weak man’s imitation of strength.” Eric Hoffer
Eric Hoffer was a 20th century American philosopher and writer. After losing both parents at an early age, he drifted as a migrant worker following the harvests around California, and later became a labourer on the docks of San Francisco. As a result of his own modest background and his struggle to survive, he gained a respect for America’s underclass and he began to write about them. Best known for The True Believer and The Ordeal of Change, Hoffer earned the praise of critics and became an adjunct professor at University of California Berkeley. Later in life he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
His incredible life journey taught him a great deal and formed the foundation for such pearls of wisdom as this wonderful quote—a clear, common sense observation about human behaviour.
Good luck on your journey!
