Things to Think About
"Happiness is nothing more than good health and a bad memory." Albert Schweitzer
There’s a lot of talk today about happiness; What is it? How do I find it? How can I make it last? I love the folksy nature of Dr. Schweitzer’s words and the reminder that happiness is within our reach. Sure, many of us have ailments of one kind or another, but with the help of modern medicine, we can enjoy relatively good health. Developing the type of bad memory referred to here, is a bit trickier, though, and it involves the maturity and discipline to recognize negative thoughts for what they are—unproductive, of no good use, and a waste of time—which allows us to get back to thoughts that really matter—happy ones. Who knew that a bad memory could be so useful?
Good luck on your journey!
