Things to Think About

“The positive thinker sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible.” Winston Churchill

Many thought that Sir Winston’s oratory strength was in his genius of coming up with extemporaneous quips, but his biographers have taught us that he spent hours honing phrases, because he knew the power of well-honed syntax.  A common-sense truth condensed into a well-crafted phrase, or sentence, is remembered long after the rest of the discussion is forgotten. The imagery of this particular quote is, at once, powerful, inspirational, and unforgettable.  The reason I wanted to share this quote with you today, aside from the fact that it absolutely resonates with my view of life, is as a reminder of the power of thinking about what you say, or write, and taking a few more moments to consider the needs of the audience with whom you are communicating. This is a powerful insight for leaders, and it is what separates those who must say something from those who have something to say.  Which do you choose to be?

Good luck on your journey!
