Things to Think About
“The best teachers are those who show you where to look but don’t tell you what to see” Alexandra K. Trenfor
I am often asked what traits a good coach should have. This quote describes one that is definitely on that list. A good coach, like a good teacher, realizes that learning is best when it is fueled by self-discovery and personal engagement. Socrates taught us the importance of teaching by asking questions of the student. The questions, under the direction of a patient, competent teacher, can get one into the neighborhood of the sought after knowledge, but the teacher knows that the true joy, for both, comes when the student discovers the exact address on their own. How might you apply this wonderful insight today?
Good luck on your journey!
