Things to Think About

“Courage is fear walking.”  Susan David

The reason I love this quote so much is that it so simply and elegantly explains one of life’s most important lessons: courage is not the absence of fear.  It is being able to manage it in a way that it doesn’t keep you from taking just one more step. And, when you do take just one small step, something powerful happens; momentum begins and the next steps become increasingly manageable.  This momentum then begins the incremental process of building self-confidence, which grows into courage.  It’s okay to be afraid, to feel overwhelmed.  You are probably feeling that way for a good reason.  However, most people stop there and become frozen passengers in life, accepting whatever happens.  This is what living in silent desperation feels like.  Now, here’s the thing; there is no magic in taking that next step.  It is a choice pure and simple. And, in keeping with that thought, I’ll remind you of one of other favorite quotes from Jeff Bezos, “We become the choices we make in life.”  Choose well.

Good luck on your journey!
