Things to Think About

“Never promote people into leadership positions who believe they can do no wrong.”  Peter Drucker

To me, the wisdom of Peter Drucker is in his direct and simple approach to topics that many would take volumes to clarify and debate.  When one reflects on this quote and searches for insights which go beyond the obvious, one might consider a deeper, more nuanced, contextual view of self-confidence. For example, in the context of your enterprise, of its challenges and of its values, how would you define self-confidence, in its elements and in the aggregate?  When does it look its best and when does it become toxic? These reflections and discussions can bring needed clarity to important career decisions, not only about hiring or promoting but also about developmental needs.

Good luck on your journey!
