Things to Think About
“As a well-spent day brings happy sleep, so a well-used life brings happy death.” Leonardo Da Vinci
In more than fifty years of collecting quotes, this is the only one I have that deals with the end of life. I had reservations about including it my column, but I will never forget the impact it had on me when I read it more than forty years ago, and that is why I included it. We all can relate to a hard day’s work and how nice it felt to get into bed for a well-deserved sleep. However, applying this to life is something I never did until I came across Leonardo’s words. It is truly an interesting perspective on life. My goal in sharing this with you is not to bring you down, but to provoke thought and reflection. I guess the question is: What are you not doing, that you know you should be doing, to, as Leonardo put it, live a well-used life?
Good luck on your journey!
