Things to Think About 061
"Few things can help an individual more than to place responsibility on him, and to let him know that you trust him." Booker T. Washington
In my experience, this comes as close to being that magic bit of alchemy that transforms the base metal of underperformance into the gold of engagement. It’s such a simple and basic truth, and that’s why many people don’t do it—it’s too simple, and the more complicated approaches must be more effective, because there are so many books being written about the 7 steps to being a super manager, or the 9 mantras that will make you an outstanding leader, or whatever the latest management fad of the day happens to be. Giving a deserving person responsibility, and placing trust in them, fuels the momentum of self-esteem and engagement. If you don’t feel you have a deserving person to whom you can give these things, that may say something about you.
Till next time…
