Things to Think About 125

What is Our Purpose in Life?

Thinking about our purpose in life can be truly overwhelming. Where does one begin-with family? Close friends? What about society? How about your profession?

Then the question can become one of validation, of results—when will you see any? When should you see any?

I have come across a wonderful quote, I want to share with you, which elegantly addresses all these questions and puts into perspective much of what a meaningful life is all about.

In a sense, I hate giving credit to the person who spoke it, because it was, in all likelihood created by a talented speech writer, but I did hear it spoken by Hilary Clinton, so to her goes the attribution. This quote was spoken by her at the 2016 Democratic National Convention.

In an attempt to bring into focus the importance of creating a better world for future generations, she said, “We are here to plant seeds in a garden we will never see.”

Think about this for a moment. It’s one of those quotes that seeps into one’s consciousness at so many levels and can resonate so deeply in answer to the old question, “Why am I here?”

Till next time…
