Things to Think About 038

“Do what you love and the money will follow is bad advice if it doesn’t love you back.” Rachel Nabors

What a wake-up call this quote is! It is such a wonderfully elegant insertion of common-sense, critical thinking into the old saying, “Do what you love and the money will follow.” Have you ever seen someone hiding behind these words as they choose to continue to do something that doesn’t love them back? Loving you back simply means providing you with what you need. If you are rich and don’t need to work, for example, and you love to sleep twelve hours a day, no problem. But, on the other hand, if you need to work to earn a living to support a family, pay rent, etc., etc., sleeping twelve hours a day is not going to yield much in providing you with what you need. So, while I think doing what you love is a wonderful thing, and something worthy of pursuing, I think it’s also a good idea to apply a little critical thinking and ask yourself if it loves you back.

Till next time…
