Muriel Anton

Canadian Muriel Anton is currently the CEO of Vodafone Czech Republic. In more than 20 years of her career, Muriel has acquired significant experience in financial management of telecom companies in both Canada and the Czech Republic and has earned great renown as an expert in the field. She first came to the Czech Republic in 2000 to join the startup Oskar as a Vice President for Finance and she guided the company through its acquisition by Vodafone. Under her leadership, the company has covered a large proportion of the population with 3G signal and continued to grow its customer base. Muriel is the type of manager that does not merely focus on business but also on her employees' well-being and wider social and environmental responsibility. Thanks to her efforts, Vodafone became the Second Best Employer of 2009 and the Most Socially Responsible Company of 2010. Most recently Muriel has also led the foundation of a mentoring program for Czech business women – Odyssey. In 2008 and 2009 she has been voted the Most Influential Businesswoman by the renowned economic daily newspaper “Hospodářské noviny” and Woman Manager of the Year for 2009.
