Things to Think About
The will to succeed is important, but what's more important is the will to prepare - Bobby Knight
This quote triggers thoughts in me about Malcolm Gladwell’s 10,000 hour rule and Geoff Colvin’s book, Talent is Overrated. There is something about investing the time and energy into preparing one’s self that makes the victory, or success, not only worth it, but deserved.
Taking the time to prepare, to exercise, to read, to research, to do whatever it takes, is what gives success meaning and value. There can be no question that when you have done your best to get ready for that competition or presentation, that you deserveto participate or compete.
People admire a winner who has earned it for good reason. Their example speaks to the best in us all.
Good luck on your journey!
