SELF

I never liked to read or to study what I was supposed to. The concept of anything that I “must do” was always against my nature. Maybe that is also why it took me quite a while to find my way back to books & education. I started to work at the age of 16, so there wasn’t much time anyway. Life was my school… until I realized I have so many choices and started to enter various courses, summer schools and internships. Many were amazing, but one was very special.

At the age of 25 I decided to dedicate 1 year to studying advertising arts in evening school. Why? One, because I believed I would improve sales in my
own businesses and Two, because I love creative arts, especially with measurable impacts on people. It turned out to be one of the essential experiences after all thanks to Mr. Marian Beres who taught us psychology in relation to advertisement.

Sometimes the right people at the right time can give you an amazing insight that opens doors into new, hidden worlds. Learning about yourself is a key to the ultimate power of self-control and understanding others. I learned that the reason I reacted the way I did in different situations was because most of our natural reactions are triggered subconsciously and I was only being a slave to my past.

Another lesson was about others. Even today, I still carry in my head something like a map of four different human characters and their combinations, ways to motivate them, their fears and most importantly their different languages. Funny I never before realized that even though we speak the same language, we actually have different ways of understanding the same information based on our character combination. You could say, of course, everybody has a different point of view, but, what if we master our recognition of the different character species we meet and learn their ways of understanding? No more misunderstandings, just new challenges.

One of the most important facts I realized is about the polarity of each of us. We are so often troubled with our faults - weak behavioral elements. We are so disturbed with these, we use so much energy to hide them and inside we
consume even more energy by assuming what others would say. Truth is that
every weakness of ours comes from the exact same place in our psyche where our strongest strength lives. They live together inside us like brother and sister and we can only achieve balance and happiness if we embrace both with the same love.

Artists live from freedom & creativity, which doesn't help them much to be on time, or watch the costs. Politicians live from power & control, which doesn't help them with understanding their often powerless audience. Scientists live from results of their knowledge, which doesn't help them much to be free and do so many beautiful things with no results at all.

Try it.. Think about one character weakness of yours and try to find its source. That same source provides you with one of your biggest strengths. Everything starts inside.

Fear is weakness.

Its source is survival.

Survival is what makes us ambitious.

Ambition is strength that helps us achieve victory.

Bigger the ambition the greater the fear.
